The 25th Anniversary of the popular Wawa Welcome America! Festival will be held on the Ben Franklin Parkway. The FREE concert will start promptly at 7:00 PM, or you can see the festivities LIVE on NBC10, NBC10.com and Telemundo62.
According to NBC Philadelphia, there will be six days of celebrating with major artists from June 29th through July 4th. The lineup will appeal to a broad audience.
Mary J. Blige
Headlining the concert for the first time will be “the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul,” Mary J. Blige. Each one of the musical pioneer’s studio albums, which were released over a period of more than two decades, debuted in the Top Ten of the Billboard 200. She is a global super star who has sold over 50 million albums throughout the world, has had eight multi-platinum albums, five American Music Awards, nine Grammy Awards, and many other nominations.
Boyz II Men
These hometown icons are the all-time best-selling R&B group with their amazing 64 million albums sold. They will perform on the Parkway July 4th and will also appear at the “Celebration of Freedom Ceremony” at 10:00 AM on July 4th at the Independence Hall.
Philly POPS BIG Band
The POPS were the first artists at the very first concert on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway that premiered in 1993. Joining them will be Mandy Gonzalez from the Tony Award-winning hit musicals “Hamilton,” “Wicked,” and “In the Heights.” Also joining in will be Tony DeSare, the Billboard Top 10 jazz singer, songwriter, and pianist.
They will perform along the Parkway in the afternoon of July 4th and bring family-friendly activities.
The celebration culminates with one of the most beautiful and largest fireworks displays in the USA at 9:30 PM.
