In Germantown Avenue, Chestnut Hill, residents are gearing up for the fourth annual Petpalooza this Sunday (July 9) from noon to 3:00 PM. Petpalooza is a special pet-friendly event held in Philadelphia every year to celebrate pets and their families. All throughout the afternoon, special events and activities will be held within the neighborhood that are pet-accessible and focused on our love for our four-legged friends.
Pets will have access to a doggy pool, a caricaturist, a paw reader, and (most importantly) plenty of treats. On-site veterinarians are available in the case of an emergency. Pet service vendors and a dog training exhibition will also be there. For children, there is a bouncy house (sadly not pet compliant), face painting, arts and crafts, and a petting zoo.
The Woodmere Art Museum will feature special pet-friendly tours of the grounds and its sculpture garden starting at 2:00 PM. Pet-friendly eatery Yappy Hour can be found at Chestnut Grill, El Poquito, Paris Bistro, Top of the Hill Café and MARKET at the Fareway for any hungry attendees. Specials will begin at 3:00 PM when the festivities are dying down.
Those without pets are also welcome to attend. Encouraged, in fact, as several pet rescue organizations like the Pennsylvania SPCA, the Philly Kitty, the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance, New Leash on Life, and Tiny Paws Rescue will be on location with animals looking for new homes. If you’ve been considering adopting a pet, this may be the perfect time to do so.
The best part by far is that Petapalooza is 100% free to attend. Attendees will only have to pay-as-they-go for various concessions and activities, but never for entrance.
If you like fun, food, games, and pets, then head down to Chestnut Hill for Petpalooza this Sunday beginning at noon.
