Eagles play best game of the year

No, they didn't win the games they were supposed to win when they were really "must win" games. When they were supposed to beat New England, Seattle and the Giants, they came up short and no they didn't win the Super Bowl, they beat the Cowboys. And for some fans, as long as the Eagles beat their arch rivals, that's probably good enough for them.
I'm not saying that it doesn't feel good to beat the Cowboys. It's so much easier to hate them now that their good again, as opposed to when they sucked around the 2000-2002 era. The defense played excellent Sunday. They forced turnovers, something they haven't been doing all season, and they stopped the Cowboys when they got into the red zone, something that they have been doing all season.
They only had 7 picks all season coming into Sunday's game, but they got three against the new Brett Favre?? (Well, that's who everyone wants him to be.)
The offense could've played better, they could've scored more than 10 points because normally when you play the second highest scoring team in the league, you have to score to have a chance to win. But fortunately for Donovan McNabb and the rest of that offense, the defense held their own against one of the best offenses in the league.
The defense ended Tony Romo's streak of 17 straight games with at least one touchdown pass and the first time the Cowboys have failed to score a touchdown since November of 2004. I just wish their defense could've played like this against Seattle or have been able to stop that one touchdown that the Giants had or they wouldn't be sitting at 6-8 right now and can only finish with a .500 record at best.
They still have alot of issues on this team because their defense are not getting any younger. They need help at the safety position even though Quinton Mikkell played great when Brian Dawkins was not able to play. Sean Considine is an excellent open-field tackler but he cannot cover to save his life.
At linebacker, Takeo Spikes is getting up there with age, Chris Gocong has not been as good as we thought, and Omar Gaither was good again this year but he is better suited as an outside linebacker so that means we need a solid Middle Linebacker in here.
The defensive line has played excellent this year. Brodrick Bunkley showed this year that he can be a great run stopper in this league, and Mike Patterson has been having an excellent year quietly. He makes the kind of plays that doesn't show up in the statbook but helps the team make stops. Jevon Kearse and Darren Howard have both been busts so I won't even count them because they won't be here next year. But they also have two other great young defensive ends in Trent Cole and Juqua Thomas.
Overall, it was a good win, but it was too little, too late, well it wasn't too little because they still beat the Cowboys and for Eagles fans, that counts as a a couple of wins when they beat them, so it was just too late.
