Will Pat Burrell's critics ever be silent?

Poor Pat Burrell. He has been criticized by everyone from the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News, the local TV stations, fans and even Hall of Famer, Mike Schmidt; who was no stranger himself as a target of the Philly boo fans.
But let's take a look at our unsung hero.
When Ryan Howard slumped and then got injured, Pat helped carry the team. He has improved, somewhat, as a hitter this year. His stats below for the year (courtesy of ESPN)...

New NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell made a statement on Tuesday by suspending Tennessee Titan defensive back Adam “Pacman” Jones for one season and Cincinnati Bengal wide receiver Chris Henry for eight games. Journalists and pundits around the country are applauding the commissioner’s decision and rave how he is taking a stand that is long overdue. While discipline is important, perhaps the media should reexamine just how unfair this punishment was to Pacman Jones...
Is this the Phillies' year?

New year, same story. Optimism abounds amongst Philadelphia baseball fans, who show unwavering faith in an organization that has once again reaffirmed its resolute commitment to mediocrity. A frank assessment of the Phillies' roster should have us all anticipating yet another good-but-not-quite-good-enough season. The bullpen is a mess. The starting rotation is hardly what it's cracked up to be. The outfield is thin. Catcher and third base are huge question marks. Yet somehow...

We the sports fan’s of the United States of America hereby swear ourselves to these rules of sport Dom. Although we are a free people we realize that for the good of our citizens and the good of the common beer drinking couch potato/ degenerate gambling junkie, certain laws must be adhered to. These laws are included here within.

Under no circumstance do you root against your home team. Including
but not restricted to: Rooting for a better draft pick. Rooting for
a player on your fantasy team. Rooting for a player to be traded.
Home teams are defined by the local news network in which you watch.
Whichever teams your local news network covers are your home teams.
If you live in Podunk and have no major cities in your immediate area
you are exempt; the fact is you probably like cock fights and sex with

What can Mark Rasy say now?

What’s he got to say now that it wasn’t McNabb that ruined the playoffs? I guess he’ll say it wasn’t Garcia’s fault? Tell the Rasy guy that McNabb would’ve won that game in New Orleans.

What a day we live in.... just when the sixers go 3-0 and a glimmer of hope breaks on the horizon, they lose 12 straight and it's back to...yes, philadelphia sports as we know it. Hmm... maybe our only hope are these eagles, who have won 6 straight games, including a highly contested hard battled playoff test.
What is the secret to the birds' success? First, they are an experienced team, especially in the post season. With four recent NFC championship games (unheard of when you think about it) under their belt, and a superbowl appearance two years ago, they are true contenders in the NFL. When the season started, they had the number one ranked offense in the league. Donovan McNabb is one of the best deep passers, and with Andy Reid addicted to his pass game (before he went through the 12-step pass withdrawal program), it was only a matter of time before he racked up some serious yardage stats through the air....
Is Reid a real genius?
January 4, 2007| By Harry Baker|

I am tired of hearing about what a "genius" Andy Reid
is because we made the playoffs. What did he do? He
just gave the ball to his best player a lot more when
McNabb went down. Thats genius? Westbrook makes Reid
look like a genius, just like Emmitt did with the dude
with all the hairspray, just like Montana did in San
Fran.
Genius is having a superstar on your team that can
rise to the moment and carry the team on his back.
Genius is the athlete that refuses to lose.
Is Cowher less a genius this year? Or did injuries
make his genius dissappear?
We have a competitive team this year because our
geniuses are in the payroll department.
Dollars buy talent. Some teams overpay, some get
bargains.
We have a competitive team because other teams in our
league spent their money foolishly and/or got hurt
worse than us this year.
If Andy Reid has a genius it must be in accounting, in
bargain hunting. Yeah, we are the gold standard.
Nothing personal, its just business. He can talk
people into taking less money like John Runyan and
Trotter, using their pride and loyalty to their....

I want my voice heard. I ask you, how can this guy bash McNabb
so much when it's obvious he doesn't know what he's talking about.
I'm guessing this guy is a deep down McNabb lover. Hell, I'll
even bet he drafted him first in his Fantasy Football Leauge.

- I HATE Sports Illustrated!.....
The article was about the Eagles and the Jets, but they put the Eagles
on the cover. As the cowboy in the old West said as he was being led
to the newly built gallows.....If it weren't for the honor, I'd just
as soon decline.

- Whaddyaknow, Forsberg's injured again. Please get him healthy
so he can be traded for a good, youngish defensemen--like Scott
Niedermeyer (oh that's right Clarke passed on him for Hatcher). Actually, Forsberg
was an excellent move by Clarke, just as was Amonte, Coffey, Nedved
etc........... well, lemme clarify that...... they WOULDA been excellent
moves in 1996. His problem was being 10 years too late. Oh yeah......
who didn't know Forsberg was fragile? Clarke oughta be run out to be
tarred, feathered and run out of town for what his apathy let the Flyers
become. ..... and rather than admire Snyder's loyalty, I seriously question
his current competance. He hasn't pushed any right buttons since he
brought Croce in to run the Sixers....
