- I HATE Sports Illustrated!.....
The article was about the Eagles and the Jets, but they put the Eagles on
the cover. As the cowboy in the old West said as he was being led to the
newly built gallows.....If it weren't for the honor, I'd just as soon decline.

- Whaddyaknow, Forsberg's injured again. Please get him healthy so
he can be traded for a good, youngish defensemen--like Scott Niedermeyer
(oh that's right Clarke passed on him for Hatcher). Actually, Forsberg
was an excellent move by Clarke, just as was Amonte, Coffey, Nedved etc...........
well, lemme clarify that...... they WOULDA been excellent moves in 1996.
His problem was being 10 years too late. Oh yeah...... who didn't know Forsberg
was fragile? Clarke oughta be run out to be tarred, feathered and run out
of town for what his apathy let the Flyers become. ..... and rather than
admire Snyder's loyalty, I seriously question his current competance. He
hasn't pushed any right buttons since he brought Croce in to run the
Sixers.

- Iverson
It's amazing what the other 4 guys on a basketball team can do when they
actually touch the ball and get involved in the play. By the way, see how
many turnovers he commits? His supporters always overlook that. And that's
not even getting into the intangibles of "practice", and team
contributions off the court.
............. Let's see, the headline says "Iverson scores 30, but
loses". Lemme check the Box Score..... Iverson shot 10 for 24 from
the field. That's 41 %. Lemme just check something else out here. Ok....
Iverson is shooting 41% for the YEAR. hmmmmmmmm Kobe Bryant shoots 47%....so
does that new kid, Miller the Sixers just got. hhmmmmmmmm well, just for
the heck of it, lemme see what Carmello Anthony shoots.... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
he's shooting 50% for the year
So, lemme see if I got this right.....Iverson averages 30 Points per game
shooting 41%. Anthony averages 30 PPG shooting 50%. Ok,,,, when they changed
back to the leather balls, did they also say the Nuggets could play
with 2 at a time? I can't WAIT to see this train wreck.
The Sixers will win just enough to screw themselves out of that big kid
from Ohio....... and unless they package the 2 extra #1 picks they got to
move into the top 10, they'll just get 'pieces' by picking in the 20's.
But I have complete confidence in Billy King, based on his stellar track
record, to do the right thing.

That leads me to the Philies. The good news is that the pitchers and catchers
report in just about a MONTH!!! The bad news starts when you think about
WHO will report.
Myers will report 25 pounds lighter and with a new attitude. He'll gain
35 pounds before Labor Day... and puch out 3 Phillies ball girls.
Hamels will be the next coming of Sandy Koufax...... Until June, when he
goes on the DL with chronic back problems.
Garcia will be an 'innings eater', just as Lidle was. I mean JUST as Lidle
was. 14W 14L 4.25 ERA
Eaton will show flashes of brilliance, between stints on the DL.... and
being lit up when finally IS healthy.
Moyer will will be pummelled senseless by the Phillies bench players for
telling one-too-many "In the old days..." stories.
Howard will hit 38 home runs and have 38 RBI's, because they will walk him
any time he comes up with men on base.
