Eagles are way behind early in the season

At the beginning of the season, everyone thought the NFC East would be down to two teams. The Eagles and the Cowboys.
Well, the Cowboys are holding up their end of the predictions, but the Eagles are not doing so well. The Cowboys have gotten off the a 5-0 start and stand on top of the NFC East and are one of the three undefeated teams left. There will only be at least 2 left next week because Dallas plays the one of the other undefeated team, the Patriots in what should be a great offensive shootout. The Colts have a bye week, so it's a guarantee that they will stay undefeated next week.
The Giants, who no one thought was good enough this year to contend in the division got off to a 0-2 start with that awful defense, but they've bounced back to win three in a row and they stand third in the division with a 3-2 record.
The Redskins were the team that NOBODY had winning the division are sitting second in the NFC East with a 3-1 record. They have a young quarterback so no one expected to be that good, but he's improving, their defense is playing well, and they are ahead of the Eagles.
So the Eagles are the only team below .500 and they're way behind. They have to win almost every game if they want a chance to win this division. The rest of the NFC is so weak that they probably can make the wild-card with an 8-8 record.
But would Philly fans really be satisfied with a wild-card berth?
We are so used to winning the division. Even last year, when it seemed like we were dead in the water, we finished the season with 5 wins in a row with a backup quarterback and still won the NFC East. And plus, in the NFL, wild-card teams don't make it to the Super Bowl that often. So we need to win this division because we need that home-field advantage even though they are a good road team.
We stay in the Meadowlands to play the Jets and that's definitely a winnable game. It's also a must-win. We also said that about the Redskins game, the Lions game......and the Giants game. While every other team in the NFC East are handling their business, we just continue to fall behind. We've lost 2 division games so far this season and maybe it's a pattern. We play well against the division one year, then we play awful against them, then we play well another year, but the next year we can't win a game against them.
In 2004, we went 6-0 against the division, in 2005, we went 0-6 against our division counterparts. Then 2006 came, and we posted a 5-1 record with the only loss coming on a giant collapse against then Giants in Week 2. We even won three games in a row on the road against all three of those opponents.
And now in the 2007 campaign, we are 0-2 so far and maybe this is just not our year, and maybe this is not McNabb's year? Maybe 2004 was meant to be his last good season? Remember all those years from 2001-2004 and 2006 when we were beating up on the Cowboys, Redskins and Giants? This is just their time......I guess, so we'll let them have their little fun for now, but we'll be back soon, maybe this year, or probably next year, but the Eagles will be champions of the NFC East once again.
