So I guess the Sixers do have a future

Believe it or not, the Sixers would be in the postseason if the playoffs started. But on the other hand, they would be the #7 seed playing Detroit and nobody sees them winning more than one home game. But let's worry about the playoffs when they get there. But they do have 2 more tough games to show us how good they really are. They already lost to Boston at home.
They still have Detroit on the road, and San Antonio at home. So that's the top three teams in the league in one week and so far they're 0 for 1.
Now alot of people say that they beat alot of mediocre teams, but the thing is, we WERE one of those mediocre teams. It's obvious that they're improving because they would be losing to those teams because they would be on that same level.
No one thought that Andre Miller would be this good (I sure didn't) and he's proving to be a good leader on a young team. A young team with a bright future. Louis Williams could be an excellent sixth man in this league with the spark he brings to this team off the bench. He could even become a starter eventually.
Thaddeus Young is also showing signs of becoming a star in this league. Better signs that Andre Iguodala showed in his rookie year. And speaking of Andre Iguodala, he's also having himself an excellent year.
The league is finally taking notice to this team also. I mean, when was the last time you saw the Sixers highlights shown on the halftime report of an ABC game? The Sixers deserve the credit that they're getting from some people and if people are ot giving them credit, they need to. They're one of the hottest teams in the league right now. Only if we can win 19 games in a row......we'll get that respect the Rockets are getting.
It's funny how a couple of weeks ago, we had nothing to talk about with the Sixers, but now we're saying they have a bright future and they have a good chance to make the playoffs. And I feel in a couple of years, we'll be one of the top three teams in the East. Think about it, all three of Boston's stars are over 30, the Pistons are getting older and how long can they stay on top? So that leaves the Sixers, the Cavs, and most likely the Magic. I guess you can throw the Bulls in there too.
The Sixers won't get any worse, they'll just keep improving but we have to see how they play against the top three teams. And also against the Nuggets on March 19th. I think that's the return of some guy who only played here for 10 years. We'll see how the fans react when they introduce him. |
